A court in Saudi Arabia has increased the punishment of a 19 year old girl who was a victim of a gang raping last year. The girl was punished for meeting with an unrelated male whom she was friends with. Upon meeting, the pair was abducted. Following an appeal by the accusing attourney, the gang rapist's sentence was changed from 5 to 9 years in prison. However, the victoms sentence was also INCREASED from 90 lashings to 6 monthes in prison and 200 lashings. It is part of Arabic religion that woman cannot meet with unrelated males.
